St. Lucy’s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves

Marsh lands

Swamp feet

never missing a

breath

“Crazy ones”

they called

Never knowing how

true

those words rang

We found a home

in a space and time

On the warm sandy shores

where shells became

boats and

creatures became

mothers.

“Rabid”

The fisherman called

before he realized

we were just

darlings

little

soft

pieces of gold

raised by wolves.

This poem is inspired by the Monster She Wrote, Prompt Challenge: Day 8- St. Lucy’s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves. I will be trying to follow this prompt challenge as much as I can throughout the month of October! Photo by Marek Szturc on Unsplash.
