Counting Memories

How do we count all the moments of the day?

For cherries and apple pie kisses distract

me. But I want to remember all that you say

For every moment with you fills me.

Are we alone on this planet of dismay?

I counted all the sheep and still felt cold.

But I can’t forget every smile you display,

Butterfly and rose petal touches that impact

my soul, there they breathe and stay.

I am testing out a new form of poetry called Magic 9! Check out Donna Matthews post about it over at Go Dog Go Cafe and write a poem of your own! Photo by Anastasiia Ruan on Unsplash
