I am writing this tanka in response to Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday prompt. Am I almost a week late? Shhh! Let’s not worry about it. I have been writing and submitting to some online journals so this prompt was left on the sidelines! But I was happy to write it and feel inspired. The themes of “past and present” are often in my poems. I constanly feel as though I am talking about ‘what was’ and ‘what will be’. Thanks for reading!
